Is This Site Safe To Use

MyMoneyComparison.com is operated by MyMoneyComparison.com Ltd, a UK company authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under firm reference 916241 and registered with the Information Commissioner as a data controller under ZA460665. The site runs over an encrypted connection, the details you enter are passed only to the providers who quote for you, and the company does not sell personal information to outside parties.

Everything on this page is either our own published wording or a number you can check on a public register. We have not listed a security accreditation we do not hold. Our full privacy policy and compliance statement carry the detail behind these summaries.

How We Protect Your Information

These are the measures set out in our privacy policy, reproduced here word for word so that the two pages cannot drift apart.

Encrypted in transit

All sensitive and payment information you supply is encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology.

Held behind secured networks

Your personal information is held behind secured networks and is accessible only by a limited number of people with special access rights, who are required to keep it confidential.

Scanned for vulnerabilities

We scan our website regularly for security holes and known vulnerabilities, including regular malware scanning, to keep your visit as safe as possible.

Protected at every step

We apply a range of security measures whenever you enter, submit or access your information.

Secure Sockets Layer covers information while it travels between your browser and the site. If you want to know what happens to a particular record after that, ask our Data Protection Officer through the privacy policy page.

How To Check We Are Genuine

Four things you can verify without asking us, in the order worth doing them.

  1. The address bar

Every page of this site is served over an encrypted connection and the domain is exactly www.mymoneycomparison.com. A near-miss spelling, a different ending, or a page served without encryption is not this site.

  2. The Financial Conduct Authority

MyMoneyComparison.com Ltd appears on the FCA Register under firm reference number 916241. You can look it up yourself at register.fca.org.uk without taking our word for it.

  3. Companies House

The company is registered in England and Wales under company number 08464012, with its registered office at Jubilee House, 55 Church St, Morley, Leeds LS27 9JQ.

  4. The ICO register

The company is entered on the Data Protection Register as a data controller under number ZA460665, searchable on the register at ico.org.uk.

Who Holds Your Data At Each Stage

A comparison journey passes through more than one company. Knowing which one is responsible at which point is the difference between a confusing handover and a suspicious one.

  1. 1

    MyMoneyComparison.com Ltd

Data controller for the information described in our privacy policy. FCA firm reference 916241, ICO registration ZA460665. We do not provide financial advice and we do not sell insurance policies.

  2. 2

    Seopa Ltd

Our online quote-and-buy comparison services are provided by Seopa Ltd, which is the data controller for all insurance product quotes provided. FCA firm reference 313860, ICO registration Z8733752. Seeing a Seopa-operated page during a quote journey is expected, not a warning sign.

  3. 3

    The provider you choose

If you go ahead with one of the providers who quotes for you, you come under the privacy policy published on that provider’s own website, and they become responsible for the information you give them.

If Something Looks Wrong

Ask us first

Email cs@mymoneycomparison.com or use the contact page. Tell us what happened and when, and give us anything that would help us find the record.

Office hours

Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm, excluding bank holidays. Calls may be recorded for training, quality and monitoring purposes.

Take it to the regulator

If you remain concerned about how your data has been used, you can raise it with the Information Commissioner’s Office on 0303 123 1113 or at ico.org.uk. You do not need our permission to do that.

Read our privacy policy carefully. Once you use this website and our product and aggregation services you will be regarded as having read and accepted the terms of that policy, and you must not use the website or our services if you do not accept it. The terms and conditions govern everything else about your use of the site.

Security Questions

Is MyMoneyComparison.com safe to use?

The site is operated by a UK company authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under firm reference 916241 and registered with the Information Commissioner under ZA460665. Pages are served over an encrypted connection, and both registrations can be checked on the public registers rather than taken on trust.

Is the information I type in encrypted?

In transit, yes. Our privacy policy states that all sensitive and payment information you supply is encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer technology, and that information is held behind secured networks reachable only by a limited number of people with special access rights who are required to keep it confidential.

Who actually sees the details I enter?

The providers who quote for you. We pass on the details you gave on the application form, plus anything further you told us by phone, to the brokers your quotation will be arranged with. Nothing beyond that is shared except where the law obliges us or fraud is suspected.

Do you sell my personal information?

No. Our privacy policy is explicit that we do not sell, trade or otherwise transfer personally identifiable information to outside parties without advance notice. That carves out the hosting and operational partners who help run the site, and only where they agree to keep the information confidential.

Why does the quote journey move to a different website?

Because the quote engine is not ours. Our comparison services are provided by Seopa Ltd, which holds FCA firm reference 313860 and is the data controller for the quotes themselves. Arriving on a Seopa-operated page part way through is the service working normally.

How do I know I am on the real site and not a copy?

Check the address bar reads www.mymoneycomparison.com exactly and the connection is encrypted. Then check the firm reference, 916241, against the FCA Register directly. A site that quotes a firm reference which does not match the name on the register is the clearest warning you will get.

Will you ever contact me asking for my bank details?

Not through social media. Our privacy policy states plainly that we will never ask for personal or sensitive information through external social media platforms, and asks anyone with sensitive details to discuss to come to us by telephone or email instead. Treat any social message asking for them as fake.

How long do you keep my data?

For as long as it is needed to provide the products or services agreed, and after an account or service has ended where legal and regulatory requirements call for it. Complaints are kept for two years after closure, or six years where the complaint also concerns how a policy was arranged.

Can I ask for my information to be deleted?

Yes. Erasure is one of the data rights set out in our privacy policy, alongside access, rectification, objection, restriction and portability. Ask our Data Protection Officer using the contact details on that page, and say clearly which records you mean.

What do I do if I think my details have been misused?

Tell us straight away at cs@mymoneycomparison.com so we can look at the record while the trail is fresh. If the answer does not satisfy you, the Information Commissioner takes complaints directly on 0303 123 1113. Where money has moved, your bank and Action Fraud come first.
